The Nusery & Preschool Suite![]() A place where young children will experience God's love in a warm, loving, safe environment. We believe that from the earliest age children begin to experience the love of God through those around them. Our nursery is open to serve you and your child. The nursery & preschool suite is made up of five rooms: Infants, Toddlers, Bluebirds (two-year olds), Butterflies (three-year olds), and Bumblebees (four-year olds). The suite has both regular and child-sized bathrooms and each room is equipped with age-appropriate toys. PagersWe request that all parents take a pager in case we need to contact you during the service. In addition, we ask that you sit in the back of the sanctuary. You will be contacted if your child cries uncontrollably for 15 minues, becomes ill or is injured, or is unmanageable. Protecting Our ChildrenTo protect our children only authorized individuals are allowed into the nursery suite. An authorized individual is a volunteer, parent, or the individual a parent has designated to pick up his or her child. We have a computerized check-in system. Once checked in, you will receive a pager and pick-up slip. You must have the slip to pick-up your child. Only individuals 16 and older may be authorized to do pick up. Older siblings may accompany you during pick up. In order to enforce this policy, each authorized person needs to show his or her ID card. In the event that you do not have your card, please show your driver license. Good Health GuidelinesWe want to provide a healthy environment in our nursery, so we ask you to keep your child at home when you observe any of the following: Fever/Vomiting, Discharge in or around the eyes, Green or yellow runny nose, Excessive Coughing, Diarrhea, Questionable rash, Any Communicable Disease If your baby becomes ill while in the nursery, you will be notified promptly. If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, he or she should have received treatment for at least 24 hours before coming to the nursery. For your child's protection, we ask our caregivers to follow these same guidelines. How do I handle separation anxiety in my child? That is a question that has a unique answer for each parent and child. We will support you in whatever way you think would be most helpful, as long as we can also meet the needs of the other children. (For instance, if you want to try "cold turkey" but your child cries at length and that disturbs other children, we would ask you to try something else.) If you would like to stay with your child in the nursery for a while to help him or her get used to it, you are welcome to do so. PromotionChildren are promoted to the next classroom the first Sunday in June. In order to be promoted, the child must have attained the age of the class by then. Infants will be promoted from the infant room to the toddler room at one-year of age or when they are able to walk. |
